What Is Smart Home Technology?

What if all the devices in your life could connect to the internet? Not just computers and smartphones, but everything: clocks, speakers, lights, door bells, cameras, windows, window blinds, hot water heaters, appliances, cooking utensils, you name it. And what if those devices could all communicate, send you information, and take your commands? It's not science fiction; it's the Internet of Things (IoT), and it's a key component of home automation and smart homes.

Smart Home Hubs and Controllers

Smart devices are electronic devices equipped with wireless protocols that allow them to be controlled and activated by voice command, or more commonly, through mobile app technology that can be accessed through a smartphone or tablet.

Smart Home Surveillance Cameras

Wouldn't it be great to know what's happening at home, anytime, from anywhere? It's easy to do with a smart video camera. Just take out your phone, open your app, and you have an instant view of activity inside or outside your home.

Smart Locks and Home Security Systems

While lock technology has always evolved, only recently did it become smart enough to ditch those keys altogether. Thanks to smart home security technology, we can now enjoy keyless convenience with better awareness and control of who enters our homes.

Smart Heating and Cooling

Smart temperature-control devices — such as thermostats that learn and adjust to pre-programmed temperatures — are poised to increase comfort and save energy in homes.

Smart Lighting

When we talk about a smart light bulb, we’re referring to an internet-capable LED light bulb that allows lighting to be customized, scheduled and controlled remotely using a smart phone, tablet, or smart home automation system via an app. The app enables you to change the brightness of the bulbs, and if the bulbs have colored LEDs you can change their colors, too.

How Do I Get Rid Of Weeds Fast?

With those easy remedies, prevent unwanted weeds from infiltrating your yard recommended by lawn care in Cleveland, OH.
Bleach
In the gaps and crevices of your walkways, do weeds tend to thrive? Try pouring over them with a bit of undiluted bleach. You may easily take them out after a day or two, and the bleach will prevent them from coming in. Just be careful not to get chlorine on the grass lining the walkway or plantings.
Boiling Water
Do you need to find out how your driveway or walkway will burn weeds? Heat up your kettle of tea. According to HouseLogic.com, pouring boiling water can burn stubborn weeds.
Borax
By sprinkling borax into all the crevices where you have seen weeds grow in the past, get the jump on those weeds that grow in the cracks of the concrete outside your home. Before they have a chance to take hold, it will finish them off. It will also prevent ants and other six-legged intruders from entering your house when used around the base of your home. But when adding borax, be very careful; it is harmful to plants.
Baking Soda
Looking for a secure way to prevent the growth of weeds and grasses in the cracks of your paved patios, driveways, and walkways? Sprinkle the concrete with handfuls of baking soda and simply sweep it into the cracks. The added sodium would make dandelions and their friends even less hospitable.
Fabric Landscape
The advantages of the fabric of the landscape? This all-natural technique takes longer than mulch to decompose. Don't just buy any type, though. Hold the fabric up to the sun and make sure that the fabric pores are small enough to avoid the growth of weeds through the barrier. A good-quality landscape fabric is also one you can't easily tear or stretch. Stiff, not flimsy and limp, it should feel.
Salt
It can be hard to remove those weeds that pop up in the cracks of your walkways. Yet salt will get the job done. Bring the solution to a boil with around 1 cup of salt in 2 cups of water. Pour the weeds directly onto them to kill them. Another similarly productive way of destroying weeds is to spray salt directly between patio bricks or blocks onto the weeds or unwanted grass. Sprinkle with water or just wait until the work for you is completed by rain.
Shower Curtains
Next time you do some landscaping with gravel or bark leaves, those old shower curtains will also come in handy. To prevent annoying weeds from poking through, just place the shower curtain underneath the mulching stuff. Although pests may be weeds.
Vinegar
In the cracks of your driveway or around the fringes of your patio, are dandelions sprouting up? By spraying them with full-strength white or apple cider vinegar, rendering them vanish for good. Offer each plant a single splash of vinegar in its middle section early in the season, or in the middle of the flower, before the plants go to seed. At ground level, place another shot close to the stem so the vinegar will soak down to the roots. Keep an eye on the weather, though; you'll need to send the weeds another spray if it rains the next day.
